What shops tell us about Setmore
It books the cut, then leaves
Setmore schedules the appointment. Memberships, paying your barbers, no-show fees, and who made what this week all live somewhere else, usually a spreadsheet. barber.rsvp runs the whole shop from the same place you book.
A calendar, not a shop floor
Built for classes, clinics, and Zoom calls as much as barbershops, so there's no walk-in quick add, no one-tap reassignment when a barber calls in sick, no meal breaks, and no "any barber" booking. A shop's day doesn't fit one generic calendar.
No memberships, no team pay
Setmore's recurring appointments just re-book a slot; there's no monthly plan with dues and included cuts, and nothing tracks commission or booth rent. The two things that grow a shop's revenue and keep barbers paid fairly aren't there.
Or run it as a Collective
Rent chairs to independent barbers, each keeping their own booking page, prices, clients, and payouts, while you sponsor their seats on one bill. Chairs start at $24.50 a month and the rate drops as the room fills, down to $15.00. Every chair gets memberships, no-show fees, reviews, and win-backs on the barber's own Stripe, the shop-running layer a generic calendar like Setmore never had.

Switching from Setmore: common questions
What does barber.rsvp do that Setmore doesn't?+
Setmore books the appointment. barber.rsvp also runs the shop around it: monthly memberships with included cuts, commission and booth-rent tracking, walk-in quick add, one-tap reassignments when a barber is out, card-on-file no-show fees, automatic review requests, and win-back campaigns, all from your own Stripe account.
Can barber.rsvp do memberships, which Setmore doesn't?+
Yes. barber.rsvp has native service memberships: a client pays monthly dues and gets included cuts, and each redeemed visit records member pricing to the barber's payout. Setmore's recurring appointments only re-book the same slot, there's no plan a client can subscribe to.
What happens when a barber calls in sick or a walk-in shows up?+
In barber.rsvp you reassign that barber's day to whoever's free in one tap, and clients are notified. Walk-ins are added at the counter in a tap and sit in the same book as your online bookings. Setmore has a calendar for both, but no reassignment or walk-in workflow built around a shop.
Can I pay my barbers from barber.rsvp?+
Yes. Commission and booth-rent tracking with revenue by barber are built in on Pro and Legion, so payday comes off the same numbers you book and charge against. Setmore doesn't track compensation.
Can I import my clients from Setmore?+
Yes. Bring your client list over, set your services and hours, and share your booking link the same day. Your list stays yours to export anytime.
I rent chairs to independent barbers. Can barber.rsvp handle that?+
Yes, either with a Shop or a Collective. If your chairs run as one storefront (a shared menu and price list, one booking page, you running the book), that's a Shop, and one flat plan covers every chair. If each barber runs their own business (their own booking page, prices, clients, and payouts) under your roof, that's a Collective, where you sponsor their seats and pay one bill. Either way, no marketplace comes between your barbers and their clients.
