Payments & payouts

Take card payments, handle tips, and get paid out.

Connect your Stripe account

Required to accept card payments and receive payouts.

To take card payments, connect a Stripe account from the Payments page. Stripe handles the card processing and pays out directly to your bank on its normal schedule. Your subscription to barber.rsvp is billed separately from the money your shop collects.

You can still run entirely on in-person payments (cash or your own terminal) without connecting Stripe. You only need Stripe for online card payments and memberships.

Payment options

In person, online card, or both.

On the Payments page you choose which methods your shop accepts and which one is pre-selected for clients at booking:

  • In person: the client pays at the chair. Always available.
  • Online card: the client pays when they book, which requires a connected Stripe account.

No-show deposits

Require a card and collect a deposit at booking.

A no-show deposit asks clients to pay a deposit by card when they book, so a missed appointment still has a cost. Set it on the Payments page as a flat amount or a percentage of the service.

When a deposit is on, online booking becomes card-only and collects the deposit up front. It's applied to the client's bill — you charge the remainder at the chair — and you keep the deposit if they don't show.

Deposits are collected by card, so they require a connected Stripe account. Available on every plan.

Tips and the Venmo Tip Jar

Record tips at checkout, or auto-send a Venmo link.

When you settle an appointment you can record a tip amount alongside the payment, so your reporting reflects what each barber actually earned.

Venmo Tip Jar

The Tip Jar automatically texts the client a Venmo link about halfway through their appointment, pre-filled with the barber's handle. Add a barber's Venmo username on their profile to turn it on for them.

The Venmo Tip Jar is a Legion feature. On Solo and Pro the Venmo field is hidden; upgrade to Legion to enable it.
